An Olympian will help cut the ribbon at the grand opening of a new supermarket in Shoreditch later this month.

Desiree Henry, a silver medallist at Paris 2024, will join store manager Alice Allen and her team to open the new Aldi in Commercial Street on Thursday, October 30.

Alice said: "We can’t wait to open the doors to the new store in Shoreditch.

"It’s set to be a special day and having Olympic hero Desiree Henry join us will make it a morning to remember."
