Police are appealing for information after a woman was "raped" in a park in Whitechapel.

The Metropolitan Police was dispatched to Pollard Square Gardens at 6.35am on December 5 following reports that a woman in her 20s had been raped.

One side of Pollard Square Gardens was taped off whilst officers dealt with the scene.

Forensics officers were also in attendance.

The Met is now appealing to the public for information, with no arrests made at this stage.

Specialist officers are supporting the woman whilst enquiries continue.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 06.35hrs on Friday, 5 December after reports that a woman in her 20s had been raped at Pollard Square Gardens, Whitechapel.

"No arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing and the woman is being supported by specialist officers."
