A cyclist has died after a crash with a car on a busy road in east London.

The incident between a car and a cyclist happened on Commercial Road at 12.45pm on January 14, reports our sister site London Now.

Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and found a 23-year-old cyclist with serious injuries.

He was taken to hospital, where he later died last Monday (January 19).

His next of kin has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit.

No arrests have been made, and enquiries remain ongoing.

Detective Sergeant Kirsty Troy, who is leading the investigation, said:“This was a tragic incident, and our thoughts remain with the young man’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time.

“We are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision and would urge anyone who witnessed what happened, or who may have dash‑cam or CCTV footage from the area at the time, to come forward as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or message @MetCC on X, quoting CAD 3291/14JAN26.
