An osteopath who was branded “one of London’s most prolific voyeurs” after he secretly filmed thousands of woman has been banned from the field.
Danish national Torben Stig Hersborg, of Tower Hamlets, filmed and photographed around 2,000 women in his clinic in Old Street as well as on beaches, on footpaths, waiting at bus stops or for the Tube and when they were in their own homes.
Last July, the 64-year-old was jailed for three years and five months after admitting eight counts of voyeurism, London Now reports.
On Friday (January 30) the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) removed Torben Hersborg from its register of osteopaths, banning him from practice.
A spokesperson said: “The GOsC Professional Conduct Committee determined that his conduct, in relation to eight offences involving the covert recording of women over a prolonged period, was grave.
“It reflected a clear and persistent course of conduct that was sexualised and predatory towards female patients and targeted groups of the general public, and in circumstances where often there was a power imbalance with many of the offences occurring during treatment and in a professional setting.”

The osteopath boasted a celebrity client list including Caroline Wozniacki and Anna Friel.
His crimes were revealed when a member of the public called police in December last year after they saw Hersborg in the back seat of his Lexus vehicle parked outside university accommodation in Islington.
He was wearing black gloves and sat on top of black plastic bags, and a telescope and video camera were found in the car.
After he was arrested, investigators found thousands of photos and videos on devices in his possession, including images of women undressing and two while they were having sex.
The victims who were spied on could not be identified from the images, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said.
The GOsC said Mr Hersborg was suspended from the register without delay after it had been made of aware of the alleged offence and police investigation in 2024.
