The body of woman found in water is believed to have been a woman studying for her masters at a university in Poplar, reports London Now.
Edna Mmbali Ombakho, 31, has been missing after she went for a walk in Wraysbury out of London, on February 1.
Her family from Kenya then urgently pushed appeals to find her following her disappearance and lack of contact.
A search was in place until Thames Valley Police found her in a body of water in the area, reports our sister-site London Now.
According to Kenyan media Tuko News, Edna was a “dedicated student pursuing her master’s degree and building a future abroad”.
She had been studying at York St John University in Poplar.
The force said: “Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Surrey Lowland Search & Rescue helped us in our searches and we thank them for their hard work.
“Formal identification of the woman has not yet taken place, but it is believed to be missing woman Edna, aged 31, from Wraysbury, who was reported missing on 1 February 2026. Edna’s next of kin have been informed.
“A file is being prepared for the coroner.
“Our thoughts remain with Edna’s family at this difficult time.”
