Young badminton players at an east London school "supported each other and played with heart" to take home the borough trophy.
The girls from London Enterprise Academy won the Tower Hamlets Badminton Tournament 2026 and have been praised for their teamwork and discipline throughout the season.
Their coach, Jahangir Rahman, said: "Our focus was always on effort, discipline and belief.
"The girls trusted the process, supported each other and played with heart.
"Seeing them grow in confidence and lift the trophy today is incredibly proud moment for all of us."
The squad—Shiba, Sanjida, Suraia, Amira, and Munni—displayed composure, determination, and competitive spirit from the first serve to the final point.
Their victory was the result of hours of training and a team culture built on trust, resilience, and shared ambition.
The tournament featured some of the strongest teams in the borough, making for a challenging and high-energy competition.
London Enterprise Academy’s players delivered standout performances in both singles and doubles matches, with sharp footwork, tactical awareness, and teamwork proving decisive.
Their run included dominant wins in the group stages and a dramatic semi-final before their composed and clinical display in the final.
The achievement reflects the school’s belief in the value of combining sport with education.
