Fresh investment is set to fuel a major transformation at what is said to be the UK’s oldest and most decorated amateur boxing club in Bethnal Green.
Repton Boxing Club will undergo a full refurbishment of changing rooms, showers, and youth meeting spaces, thanks to support from the Government’s Better Youth Spaces programme and the Powerday Foundation.
The funding will enable Repton to widen its reach by welcoming 100 new young participants aged eight to 18 through extended opening hours and new, tailored sessions.

David Robinson, chairman of Repton Boxing Club, said: "We are extremely grateful to Better Youth Spaces and our long-term partners at the Powerday Foundation for enabling us to improve our facilities and provision – quality changing rooms, showers, and a safe youth meeting space that the young people of Tower Hamlets truly deserve."
Repton, which has produced more than 300 national champions, 150 England internationals, seven world champions, and Olympic gold medallist Audley Harrison, has been a cornerstone of youth sport in east London for more than 130 years.
The Powerday Foundation, the charitable arm of waste management and recycling company Powerday, has supported grassroots boxing and youth organisations in London for more than a decade.
Edward Crossan, chief executive of Powerday, said: "This latest project will enhance Repton’s facilities and provide a safe environment to enjoy sport and social engagement."
