As temperatures continue to soar, there is no better place to escape the heat than Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park.

The shade of the trees, the fresh air and the abundance of wildlife provide a welcome retreat from sweltering public transport, stuffy homes and over-chilled offices.

Whether you're looking for a peaceful stroll, a chance to reconnect with nature or something fun to do with the family, the Cemetery Park has plenty to offer this summer.

Summer is one of the busiest and most exciting times of year for the Friends of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park, and we are delighted to be hosting a packed programme of events for people of all ages.

Our team loves sharing the park's unique mix of nature, heritage and community spirit, and we are looking forward to welcoming visitors throughout the season.

The highlight of our summer calendar is the annual Summer Fair, which takes place on Saturday, August 22, from noon until 5pm.

This free community event brings together local residents, performers, artists and organisations for an afternoon of entertainment and discovery.

Visitors can enjoy live performances from the East London Music Hall Choir, Bobby's Bubbles and other entertainers, browse stalls selling handmade crafts and gifts, and meet local makers showcasing their work.

There will also be craft activities for children and adults, free heritage and nature walks, delicious food and drink, and plenty more to explore.

It promises to be a fantastic celebration of everything that makes the Cemetery Park such a special place.

With the school summer holidays now under way, we are also inviting families to join our popular activity sessions.

These affordable events offer children the chance to get hands-on with nature through pond-dipping, bug safaris, family foraging sessions and creative crafts inspired by the natural world.

The activities are designed to encourage curiosity, imagination and a sense of adventure, with tickets costing just £2 per child while accompanying adults go free.

If you have visited our social media pages recently, you may already have spotted Seasonal Ranger Kit's short video series highlighting some of the wonderful wildlife and seasonal sights to look out for around the park.

From insects and wildflowers to hidden corners packed with biodiversity, the videos are a great introduction to what makes the Cemetery Park so special during the summer months.

For full event listings and booking information, visit www.fothcp.org/events.

If you have any questions, contact us at contact@fothcp.org.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Cemetery Park very soon.
