Tower Hamlets Council is bringing a Summer of Fun 2026 across the borough, with activities for children, young people and families during the school holidays.
The programme will include family fun days, a new heritage trail, gardening sessions, sports, reading challenges, and creative workshops, all designed to get residents of all ages active, engaged, and exploring everything the borough has to offer.
Highlights of the programme include large-scale family fun days at Mile End Park Children’s Park and Whitehorse Open Space, featuring sports, arts and crafts, smoothie bikes, and soft play.
Cllr Minara Khatun, cabinet member for leisure, culture and tourism, said: "Summer should be a time for making memories, trying new things and spending quality time with family and friends, and our Summer of Fun 2026 programme offers exactly that.
"We are proud to provide a fantastic range of free activities that give children, young people and residents of all ages the opportunity to get active, be creative, learn new skills and enjoy everything our borough has to offer.
"From family fun days in our parks and exciting youth activities to reading challenges, gardening sessions and community events, there is something for everyone to enjoy."
Children can take part in hands-on gardening sessions to learn about growing food and explore nature.
Idea Stores and libraries will host the Read to the Beat Summer Reading Challenge, along with Lego Build the Change activities and other special events.
Tower Hamlets youth service, Young Tower Hamlets, will run workshops, trips, social events, and sports sessions for young people. The programme also features four days of free live music, theatre, sports and family entertainment as part of In The Neighbourhood with All Points East.
