A man has died after a fire broke out at a 17th-floor flat in Poplar this morning.
The fire located at the building on Blackwall Way was reported to the London Fire Brigade shortly before 4.35am (September 12).
Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters were dispatched to the scene, where the fire was found to be affecting a flat on the 17th floor of the 22-storey building.
Two adults and a child were rescued by firefighters and a further 50 people left the building prior to the fire brigade's arrival.
They have since been taken to a rest centre.
A man was declared dead at the scene.
The fire was brought under control by 6.41am, with an investigation now underway into a "range of factors" surrounding the cause of the blaze.
