A SEVENTH person has been charged in connection with the murder of Jamie Simpson in an East London shopping mall.

The 17-year-old appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Youth Court today (Friday), accused of Jamie’s murder at the Kingsland Shopping Centre in Dalston on March 22, last year.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey in June.

TEENAGERS

Three other teenagers appeared before Thames magistrates on March 9 charged with murder and conspiracy to rob. They were Duane Owusu, a 19-year-old with no settled address, and an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old.

Court orders ban identifying the last two—the 19-year-old being charged in another murder case in East London, the 18-year-old “for his family’s safety.”

Charged previously with conspiracy to rob were Simeon Jumah, a 24-year-old from Eighth Avenue in Manor Park, and Roy Williams, a 30-year-old from Snells Park in Edmonton, who both appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on March 7, and a 17-year-old from Poplar who appeared Thames Magistrates’ Court two days later.

All seven are remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on June 12.
