The Aberfeldy Estate in Poplar is being awarded a 1m funding boost, it has been announced.
It is to be one of 150 areas across England which will receive funding from a Big Lottery Fund pot of more than 200m.
As part of the funding project, residents of each area will receive training and support to help them make a positive impact in their communities.
Mayor of Tower Hamlets Lutfur Rahman said: ““At a time like this, additional funding to help improve the borough is always welcome.
“The added bonus of this programme is that residents will be in the driving seat in terms of deciding the changes they want to see and how this money is spent.”
