Adults with learning disabilities have been receiving lessons in film making.

The 10 participants were given a one month master class on a range of film-making techniques, ranging from story-boarding to editing.

The project, overseen by arts organisation Create, culminated in the group showing their work to people at St James the Less church hall in Bethnal Green.

Their creations were inspired by themes including “relationships” and “favourite activities”, with the project aiming to encourage participants to express themselves and interact with one another.

Create’s chief executive Nicky Goulder said: “Social isolation and marginalisation can affect both adults with learning disabilities and older people and this project has helped both groups to interact in a new way, promoting shared understanding.

“It has been our huge privilege to give them this opportunity.”

All those involved in the project were given DVD copies of the films they produced.
