A LIMITED tube service continues to operate as strikes hit the capital.

London’s key stations are operating this evening, including Liverpool Street, London Bridge, Victoria, Euston, Stratford, Waterloo, Holborn, Heathrow, Kings Cross, Finsbury Park, Paddington, Earl’s Court, and Whitechapel.

Tube lines are operating as follows:

A service is operating on the Central line between Leytonstone and White City

The Waterloo & City line is operating a good service

A service is operating across the length of the Northern line

The Bakerloo line is operating between Queen’s Park and Elephant & Castle

The Victoria line is operating between Seven Sisters and Brixton

The Jubilee line is operating between Wembley Park and Stratford

The District line is operating between Ealing Broadway / Wimbledon and Barking

The Metropolitan line is operating between Moorgate and Amersham/Chesham, Uxbridge and Watford.

The Piccadilly line is operating a service between Acton Town and Heathrow 123, and a service at the northern end of the line

The Hammersmith & City line is operating between Hammersmith and Aldgate

Commenting on today’s strike, Colin Stanbridge, Chief Executive of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) said: “Thanks to the resilience of Londoners the strikes called on the tube network have failed to bring the capital to a halt but the disruption has again cost businesses both time and money. It is disgraceful that the capital’s commuters are being used as pawns in the unions’ shameless political game and we urge them to back down now to prevent further economic and reputational damage to London.”

RMT general secretary Bob Crow hit back: “Despite the renewed threat of a terrorist attack on London’s transport network the Mayor, Boris Johnson, has made it clear today that he is ploughing on with his tube job cuts that will smuggle in unstaffed stations through the back door. That is a total abdication of his responsibility as Mayor of London and Chair of TfL to ensure the safety of Londoners.

“As of this lunchtime all lines on the tube are either suspended or running a “special service.” What TfL means by a special service is shuttle ghost trains running through closed station after closed station in contravention of the post-Kings Cross fire safety regulations. The TfL claims on the level of service are pure fiction and prove that truth is the first casualty of war.”
