City rail commuters have donated £1,600 to help keep the Air Ambulance emergency helicopter at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel in the air.
Staff at Fenchurch Street station collected the cash from passengers arriving for work while c2c rail bosses dipped in £461 towards the total and this week presented a cheque to their ‘new neighbours.’
The Air Ambulance charity that funds the service moved offices in April to Philpot Lane, near to Fenchurch Street in the City, to be closer to its fundraising corporate donors in the Square Mile like c2c.
