Al-Mizan pupils raise £500 at school for Richard House children's hospice

PUBLISHED: 12:00 16 July 2012

Pupils from a Muslim school are visiting east London's Richard House children's hospice today (Mon) after raising £500 to see what their donations have helped achieve.

Youngsters took part in activities at Whitechapel’s Al-Mizan Primary to help the hospice including fundraising from friends and doing extra-chores around the house.

The school’s deputy head, Hassan Ahmed, said: “They encouraged each other to bring money into Assembly and donate to the hospice and the response was phenomenal. We hope this small gesture goes some way in helping Richard House.”

London’s oldest children’s hospice opened in Beckton in 2000 and supports 300 families caring for children with life-threatening conditions—but depends on public donations to keep going.
