Aldgate High Street is closed after a collision


A person has been rushed to hospital with serious head and leg injuries and Aldgate High Street is closed after a crash involving a motorbike and a pedestrian outside the Tube station.

Buses are on diversion following the accident at around 10.20am.

London Ambulance Service told London24: “We were called at 9:56am to reports of a road traffic collision involving a motorbike and a pedestrian at Aldgate underground station.

“We sent a number of resources to the scene including London’s Air Ambulance our hazardous area response team, an emergency responder, an ambulance crew and a duty officer.

“We treated a person for head and leg injuries. They were taken as a priority to the Royal London Hospital.”

City of London Police tweeted: “Aldgate High Street is currently closed following a collision between a motor scooter and a pedestrian. Diversions are in place.”

TfL Bus Alerts tweeted: “Routes 42, 78, 100, 115, 135, 205 and 254 are subject to diversion and delays in Aldgate High Street E1 due to a road traffic collision.”
