Burnley stopper conceded three but played key part in O’s drawing 3-3 with Gillingham
Alex Cisak 8- The on-loan keeper kept Orient in the game with some key and world class saves from up close range. Normally if a keeper let’s in three goals he is not man of the match, but Alex stopped Gillingham from pulling away further when they were up 3-1, allowing Orient back into the game.
Scott Cuthbert 6- Best defender in the back four, winning most headers and throwing in plenty of last ditch tackles when the Gills broke through. The Scot also went forward and joined the rush brilliantly in the last 20 minutes.
Mathieu Baudry 5- The Frenchman has been excellent in recent weeks, really cementing his place in the starting line-up, but did not have the best of games against Gillingham as he held onto the ball for too long. The centre-back also did not win much in the air considering he is normally a dominant figure.
Shane Lowry 5- The Aussie struggled in the centre, after playing left-back in the previous match, as he gave the ball away many times and left players unmarked in the box. The defender also gave away a cheap penalty when he wrapped himself around Gills Luke Norris.
Andrea Dossena 5- The Italian did not start well as he gave the ball away in the first minute to Jermaine McGlashan, who went through with a one on one chance. The mistakes unfortunately continued from the left-back, who has been a real promising figure for the O’s over the last month.
Ryan Hedges 5- This was not the wingers best performance in a Orient kit, but he did win them a vital penalty early on in the game. However he seemed too tire very easily, which prevented him from taking on defenders like we have seen in most of his performances so far.
Lloyd James 6- The Welsh midfielder came back into the line-up, for the first time since breaking his leg in September, and looked bright and played a big part in the comeback. But he did lose the ball a fair few times, although considering he has been on the sidelines so long he was very impressive. Not forgetting his great finish in the top right corner from the penalty spot to put Orient 1-0 up.
Josh Wright 6- The midfielder has been a consistent performer since joining the O’s, but yesterday was one of his weaker performances I have seen so far. He did not seem to create as much space for himself, or the rest of the team, like normal, but he scored another beauty to win the O’s a point. That makes it two in two for the midfielder who has won his side four points with his two goals.
Dean Cox 6- Did not get too involved in the first half, other than a few dangerous crosses into the box and a shot that went wide. Stepped his game up in the second half going on to make some promising runs late on in the game.
Chris Dagnall 7- The bearded striker once again had endless work rate and energy around the pitch. This contributed towards O’s second when he beat Leon Legge to the ball before he got it across to his partner Henderson - who made it 3-2 to change the momentum of the game.
David Mooney 5- The Irishman made a few good runs, allowing balls to be put through to him, but failed to control or get on the end of anything. The Gills defence outworked the striker and did not allow him any chances.
Substitutes:
Darius Henderson 8- The striker came on early on in the second half for Mooney and instantly changed the game with his power and work rate. He won everything in the air and pushed the Gillingham defence back - making the O’s look a constant attacking threat. He also netted his seventh of the season and was a close runner-up to Cisak for MOTM.
Jobi McAnuff 6- The Jamaican winger came on, bringing a decent impact, with his pace and moves to beat defenders out wide. The former Reading captain was very unlucky not to net one himself when he hit the post with a shot.
Nathan Clarke n/a- Was brought on with only five minutes left, after the O’s equaliser, to defend off Jermaine McGlashan down the left from winning the Gills the game.
