BETHNAL Green and Bow Rushanara Ali is in talks at the Home Office to discuss the proposed march in the East End by the English Defence League.
The Labour MP was due to meet officials to find out what powers the Home Office has to prevent the march.
Earlier today she met Tower Hamlets borough commander Paul Rickett to discuss the situation.
Although there are rumours the march is set to be called off, Ms Ali said she also wanted clarification of Home Office powers which have changed after the G20 protests if extremist groups choose to mount events in the future.
