Allardyce set to sign Samuel
West Ham boss to sign Trinidad & Tobago international after injury to youngster Jordan Brown
West Ham manager Sam Allardyce is set to sign left-back Jlloyd Samuel, following the 30-year-old’s trial at the club.
The Trinidad & Tobago international, who joined the club on trial last week, is another player with Bolton Wanderers connections and will become Allardyce’s fifth summer signing.
Samuel played 78 minutes in the Hammers’ last pre-season game against Real Zaragoza on Saturday and impressed enough to be offered a contract.
It is thought that a decision has been brought forward on Samuel, due to an injury suffered by promising left-back Jordan Brown.

Brown had featured heavily for West Ham in their pre-season campaign, put picked up an ankle injury in the Hammers’ 1-0 win at Victoria Road against Dagenham & Redbridge last week.
With Brown set to be out for a month, and Herita Illunga the only senior left-back at the club, it is believed that Samuel will provide competition for a starting place in defence.

Samuel spent the end of last season on loan with Championship side Cardiff City, who the Hammers face in their first league fixture on Sunday.
Interestingly enough, Samuel used to be on the books at West Ham as a youngster and also featured for Senrab FC alongside former Hammers Paul Konchesky, Bobby Zamora and Lee Bowyer.
