RUSH hour traffic was brought to a standstill this morning following a collision between an ambulance and a car.

The junction between Grove Road and Mile End Road in Mile End was closed for more than an hour after one of the London Ambulance Service's rapid response cars collided with a Ford Mondeo at around 6.30am.

A spokeswoman for the London Ambulance Service said two people were treated at the scene before one person was taken to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel with head injuries.
