O’s have 17th best home record in League Two after earning three points from their first three games in E10

Leyton Orient’s form on the road is the best in League Two with seven points out of a possible nine, but at Brisbane Road they’ve struggled.

Andy Hessenthaler’s team have won just once in E10 and suffered defeats against Newport County and Mansfield Town by the odd goal.

But away from home they’ve drawn at Cheltenham Town and earned 2-1 victories at Grimsby Town and Morecambe.

Although a trip to Carlisle United is up next, the O’s manager is fully aware they need to get three points when Yeovil Town visit east London on September 17.

“The home form has not been great and we’re disappointed with that, but we are not far off,” said Hessenthaler.

“In the two games we have lost at Brisbane Road, we’ve been well in both of them, but defensively as a group we haven’t done well enough.

“Also in the other box we haven’t been taking our chances, but if we can get that right, like we did at Morecambe, I feel we’ll get momentum at home and keep that consistency.”

The ex-Gillingham boss went on to praise the travelling support at the Globe Arena last weekend.

Orient took 257 supporters to Lancashire and before that 347 made the trip to Grimsby and an incredible 815 were at Cheltenham.

Hessenthaler added: “The fans were excellent on Saturday. I didn’t realise until I looked up how many had actually come.

“They were superb and they always are, I’m just pleased we delivered the three points to them. They spend good money and they want to come up and see us get a good result so I’m over the moon.”

O’s women team are staging a fundraising evening in conjunction with the launch of Carrie Dunn’s new book called ‘The Roar of the Lionesses’ this evening.

It offers an enthralling examination of women’s football and takes a look at Orient’s 2015/16 season.

The book will be available for sale tonight with all profits going to the O’s women team and a question and answer session with Dunn will take place.

Also involved in the Q & A will be Orient’s team captain Danni Griffiths and manager Chris Brayford.

Entry is free and the event is taking place in the Supporters Club at Brisbane Road with the doors opening at 6.45pm and the Q & A beginning 45 minutes later while a raffle and auction will also occur.
