CURRY addicts will be heading to Brick Lane in their thousands this month to celebrate this year’s second Curry Festival.
The event, sponsored by Kingfisher beer, as opposed to the summer’s Cobra-backed festival, takes place on Sunday, September 19 and culminates in a music festival and street party.
Last year more than 70,000 curry lovers descended on Brick Lane and for the 2010 event, an impressive 50 restaurants and some 200 chefs from Brick Lane and Hanbury Street are already lined up to participate.
They will be cooking up their famous curries, laying on festival menus and serving traditional snacks, sweets and drinks for visitors to sample.
