A voluntary group of St John’s Ambulance cadet lifesavers in Canary Wharf is desperately looking for youth leaders to run the branch.

Cadets aged 10 to 17 need adults to supervise the Canary Wharf branch which meets on a weekday evening in term-time.

“There are no youth leaders to help run the group of 20 cadets,” area manager Mark Adhen said. “We’re looking for people to help them learn first aid—just one evening a week can make so much of a difference.

“Teaching children and teenagers first aid equips them from a young age to be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.”

The organisation is asking for anyone interested to give up two to three hours a week. Training is included such as first aid qualification, youth role training and safeguarding children, and would suit anyone seeking a career in youth work or giving something back to the community.

Volunteers are being asked to go online at St John’s Ambulance volunteers or email Mark.Adhen1@sja.org.uk.
