POLICE are appealing for information and witnesses following the shooting of two teenagers in East London. POLICE are appealing for information and witnesses following the shooting of two teenagers in East London.

Officers called to reports of shots fired at Shellness Road in Clapton at around 9.25pm on December 17 discovered casings, broken glass and blood at the pavement.

The injured teenagers were later admitted to hospital with gunshot wounds.

One of them, aged 18, was detained in a serious condition, but was said to be stable. The other, aged 17, was later released after treatment.

Two suspects aged 18 and 21 were later arrested in connection with the shooting, who have b oth been bailed to return to an East London police station on February 2.

Officers from Operation Trident, which investigates shootings in the black community, were keeping an open mind on the motive.
