Happy New Year – wishing everyone has a year with more kindness and more joy.
I know the government’s recent announcement of a national lockdown has not come as a shock to many of us, who have been calling for action for some time.
That primary schools were not closed in advance of term beginning on January 4 is just one example of the government’s disgraceful mismanagement of the pandemic.
There are still many gaps in support that are yet to be addressed. I will be using my position as an MP to continue the fight for those facing eviction, those without income, university students, and those in need of medical attention.
We must not forget that it is the Conservative government that are responsible for the mismanagement of this pandemic, leaving too many without necessities. I will continue to hold them to account on the decisions that affect us here.
