THE archbishop of Canterbury is in London's East End tonight for a sermon about rioting.

Dr Rowan Williams is addressing the congregation at St George-in-the-East parish church on the 150th anniversary of the infamous 'Ritual riots' there that ran Sunday by Sunday for 14 months from 1859 to the following year.

This is the hotspot where the East End rose up against Mosley's Blackshirt fascists attempting to march through Cable Street in 1936.

Dr Williams speaks from the pulpit at 7pm at St George's in The Highway, Shadwell, on the corner of Canon Street Road.
