A WOMAN driver who killed toddler Finlay Woods in his pushchair in East London when she mounted the pavement has been jailed today for seven years.

Motorist Katie Gutierruez-Perez was sentenced for killing 15-month-old Finlay (pictured) in Chingford on September 18.

The 40-year-old from Selwyn Avenue, Chingford, previously appeared in custody at Snaresbrook Crown court last month when she admitted causing death by dangerous driving, drink-driving and no insurance.

Met Police Sgt John Woods, from Chadwell Heath collision investigation unit, said after today’s sentencing: “The tragic death of Finlay Woods has been a horrific ordeal for his family and everyone who knew him.

“We would hope the sentencing will bring some peace of mind to his loved ones.”

Gutierruez-Perez’s black Toyota 4x4 mounted the pavement in Chingford’s Cavendish Road and ploughed into little Finlay’s pushchair.

The baby was rushed to hospital by ambulance, but died later.
