EIGHT sheep lost their warm winter coats at a sheep and wool fair in London's East End.

Shearer Tom Davis is pictured 'fleecing' a Badger-faced Welsh Mountain sheep called Tegan.

But Tegan was relieved to lose three kilos of fleece for the summer.

Altogether 16 kilos were sheared from the eight animals, then turned into arts and crafts or bought by artists at Spitalfields City Farm.

The farm's annual event attracted 600 spectators to watch the sheep shearing, make arts and crafts and compete in different contests.

Families watched spinning, weaving and dying demonstrations as well as felt making.

Spitalfields City Farm in Buxton Street, off Brick Lane, is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 4.30pm in the summer.
