Dear Editor,

THIS may be a bit late now as I believe the proposed closure of the Bancroft Local History Library at Mile End has been put on 'hold'.

But it was through using the genealogical research material in this library in Mile End that I was able to discover and unravel the ancestry of the prominent East End millionaire Sir Alan Sugar and his good wife Lady Ann Simons back to 1857.
