Youngsters who are part of a youth project on the Ocean estate in Stepney said throwing a barbecue made them feel part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
Youth workers at Ocean Youth Connexions, run from a community hall at Anson House Forecourt, in Earnest Estates, put on the party yesterday.
Mohammad Malik Rohmot, 15, a Stepney Green School pupil, said: “It’s important for me to feel part of the celebrations. We don’t have street parties here and my school didn’t do anything, Probably because it’s busy with exams.”
