Baudry admits O’s need to be more clinical

Leyton Orient captain Mathieu Baudry believes any team can beat anyone in League Two this season after his side were beaten 2-1 by Carlisle United.
The Cumbrians win at Brisbane Road ended the O’s unbeaten record at home, but came just days after Keith Curle’s team lost to bottom of the table Newport County.
It demonstrates the unpredictability in the division at the moment with any side capable of winning any given match on their day.
After cancelling out Derek Asamoah’s opening, Baudry was hoping his goal could help Orient pick up all three points at home.

But Anthony Sweeney struck 18 minutes from time and in the end, Ian Hendon’s team were left disappointed with the final result.
“Anyone can beat anyone, I think you need to be on top of your game in League Two,” said Baudry. “The last few matches have been difficult because I think other teams respect us because of what we have done and the way we play.

“You can see by the reaction of the Carlisle team at the end of the game how much it means. I think the majority of the match we have been the better team.
“We had more possession, but we have got to be more clinical. It doesn’t really matter what team we play against. With the quality that we have got, if we are at our best then I think we can beat anyone.”
Unfortunately Orient were unable to take their chances against the Cumbrians and fell to a second league defeat of the campaign.
That sees them drop to fifth in the table, but Baudry was quick to warn supporters not to panic just yet.
Hendon’s side haven’t won since August 29, but the French defender believes that will change very soon, hopefully starting against Notts County this weekend.
Baudry added: “We are only three points off the top so we are still in the mix and it is going to be a long season where we are up and down.
“People might have said at the start of the campaign that we had a bit of luck, but at the moment it is the other way!
“We are having matches where the opposition goalkeepers are man of the match every week like at Cambridge United and Northampton Town and against Carlisle the goalkeeper has made some unbelievable saves.”
The O’s captain was able to beat Cumbrians custodian Mark Gillespie in the 64th minute and level the scores at Brisbane Road.
It was only to be a consolation in the end, however, and the header meant little to Baudry, but he is keen to keep scoring this season.
He added: “I was happy to help the team get back in the game, but now it is a bit of a pointless goal.
“I am going to try and get as many goals as I can this year, that is one of my targets because I have had a lot of chances where I get on the end of the ball.
“I am disappointed with the number of goals I have got so I am trying to work on that and hopefully I can contribute more to the team.”
