PUBLISHED: 12:00 14 August 2012

The latest in a series of five free summer evening concerts at Canary Wharf’s Canada Square Park tonight (Tues) celebrates the music of ‘big band divas’.

Claire Martin and the BBC Big Band are staging the hits of stars of the Big Band era such as Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Billie Holliday, Doris Day, Sarah Vaughan and Judy Garland, starting at 7pm.

The series began last month with the Boisdale Big Band’s Las Vagas evening, followed by the Royal Philharmonic a week later with the ‘Best of British.’ It ends next Wednesday (Aug-22), with a Big Band Boogie night, also at 7pm.
