A giant polar bear sculpture has been dropped by crane into position at the Tower of London at the spot where a real one was kept from 1251.
The real polar bear was on a long chain and fished for his supper in the Thames.
This sculpture is one of several installations for the Royal Beasts exhibition opening at The Tower on May 28.
Artist Kendra Haste was inspired by animals from the former Tower Menagerie and has created lions, baboons, an elephant and now the polar bear, all out of wire mesh and full of character.
The original menagerie was home to wild and exotic creatures from around the world for more than 600 years.
