BELLRINGERS will be battling it out in a national competition on Saturday.
The bells of St Leonards's in Shoreditch High Street will ring during the contest from 11.30am to 3pm as the team of 12 bellringers compete in the contest for the best 12-bell striking in the country.
The bells were commemorated in the traditional rhyme Oranges and Lemons, in which they are described as chiming "When I grow rich, say the bells of Shoreditch."
The Shoreditch team are competing against musicians at cathedrals, including St Paul's and small country parishes for the top accolade.
Other competing London churches include St Magnus the Martyr near the Monument and at St Martin's in the fields off Trafalgar Square.
