Firefighters rescued three people this morning after flames broke out in a four-storey apartment block in Bethnal Green.

Another man was injured in the fire, which damaged a “large part” of a first floor flat in Teesdale Street and “part” of the property above, according to London Fire Brigade.

Firefighters from Bethnal Green, Shoreditch, Whitechapel and Shadwell called to the scene just before 7am had the flames under control within an hour and a half.
