High achieving students celebrated record exam results and raised money for charity, at an annual fun day in Tower Hamlets.

Pupils, their families and members of the community were invited to Bishop Challoner Catholic Collegiate, in Commercial Road, on September 21, and raised over £1,300 for the parents and friends association fund and Ruvuma Secondary School, their partner school Tanzania.

Stalls were run by students and as families joined in face painting, a Lithuanian Dance Show, go-karting, car model making and a football competition.

A-level passes in the Sixth Form College improved 10 per cent on 2012’s results with many students gaining a university place of their choice.

In GCSEs, 79 per cent of girls and 64 per cent of boys gained 5 A*-C grades, including English and Maths.
