SEVERE congestion is expected on East End roads this evening following the closure of the Blackwall Tunnel.
Transport for London is reporting that the tunnel is closed in both directions following an accident.
There are already considerable delays being reported, with tailbacks developing both north and south of the Thames.
By 4.45pm, it was being reported that southbound congestion had reached back as far as Old Ford, with the situation expected to get worse as rush hour continued.
