PEOPLE in the East End can look forward to keeping warm with a �273,000 upgrade of their heating system kicking off this week.

PEOPLE in the East End can look forward to keeping warm with a �273,000 upgrade of their heating system kicking off this week.

The work at the Locksley Estate in Stepney's Rhodeswell Road is part of Tower Hamlets Council and Tower Hamlets Homes' ongoing housing investment programme, which will see another ten similar systems being upgraded throughout the borough.

The upgrade will involve improvements to the communal heating plant including new burners for the existing boilers, a new control panel and new pumps.

The revamp of the 35-year old radiators and hot and cold water storage units is expected to be finished in April 2010.
