A book celebrating the iconic artwork, Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red, is being published by the Imperial War Museums.
The artwork saw 888,246 poppies, one for every British and Colonial life lost on the frontline during WW1, fill the moat of the Tower of London during the summer and autumn of 2014.
The book, which will be released on September 6, documents the impact of the artwork installation, and follows the subsequent tour of the installation’s two key sculptures – Wave and Weeping Widow.
The sculptures have been touring since the installation was opened, and will have their final showings at the Imperial War Museums in Manchester and London in November.
The book, named Poppies: Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red, has a foreword from the Duke of Cambridge and notes from the artist and designer of the two sculptures.
Its release will mark 100 years since Armistice (the end of WW1), and can be ordered at iwmshop.org.uk.
