Boris Johnson joins top disabled athletes, artists and performers at east London’s Liberty Festival of sport and culture in the new Olympic Park on Saturday.

The London Mayor is laying on the free fest to mark National Paralympic Day almost one year after the London Games closed.

He is being presented with the Paralympic Order by the International Paralympic Committee in the Copper Box arena before touring the park.

The public get the chance to meet Paralympians and try out different sports in the park, including have-a-go wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball and an accessible climbing wall.

The Liberty Festival also brings deaf and disability arts to the park with street theatre, dance, live music, film, art installations and children’s activities.
