PARTY-GOERS are being warned about the dangers of using minicabs that have not been booked in the run-up to the festive season.
Transport for London and the Met Police have launched a TV campaign to warn those who are partying over Christmas that getting into any minicab without booking is illegal, potentially dangerous and could lead to a sex attack.
The campaign is part of the Mayor of London's Safer Travel at Night initiative which was launched three years ago.
Boris Johnson said: "It is hugely important that everyone takes this message on board.
"Don't take the risk and don't let your friends do it either."
TFL are warning that even if the minicab holds a TfL licence, to tout for business on the street or to carry out a journey that has not been booked through a licensed operator is illegal.
