Residents gathered on Allen Road for an afternoon of eating, drinking and socialising with friends and neighbours.

Party-goers fired up the barbecue for the afternoon, and put on a spread fit for the Queen herself.

The fire brigade even put in an appearance, taking time out to play football with the children and mix with residents.

Organiser Tracey Yewman, of Allen Road, said: “We wanted to get to know more of our neighbours and people in the area, and I think the party has helped us do that.

“Everyone got into the spirit of the day, and we’re now planning to do another party to coincide with the Olympics this summer.”
