June Bishop proved she wasn’t daffadown dilly when it comes to Cockney rhyming slang, winning an event to speak in the lingo for 30 seconds.
It was part of an event organised by Anne Clements to raise money for the Whitechapel Mission, which helps homeless east Londoners.
The event, held at Roman Road Market, also saw 50 people enter a quiz to guess the slang words referred to in a selection of photographs, with 23 entrants getting the correct answers.
June, of Bow, was awarded a t-shirt for her efforts.
