A FIVE-YEAR-OLD boy is in a serious condition in hospital after he was knocked down by a car in a hit and run near his home on Sunday.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened at 2.40pm in Thomas Road, Limehouse.
The vehicle, described as dark in colour and possibly a Honda Civic Type R or Seat Ibiza, did not stop at the scene and was last seen travelling west towards the junction with Burdett Road.
The boy was rushed to hospital with serious head injuries and he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Officers from Limehouse police station are investigating, along with the Met's collision investigation unit at Chadwell Heath.
