TOWN Hall bosses are splashing out 20,000 on a makeover to spruce up a small urban park in London’s crowded East End.

Better play space for children and new paths are being laid out at Poplar’s Braithwaite Park near the Blackwall Tunnel.

Tower Hamlets councillor Ohid Ahmed was out inspecting the work this week (pictured) as contractors were putting together a climbing frame for the kids.

Areas are also being earmarked to create habitats for wildlife, plants and trees to create a better open space as part of the charity Trees for Cities’ programme to improve London’s breathing’ spaces in the Inner City.
