A “village fete” is being held in keeping with the traditions of the English summer in Bethnal Green on Sunday.
The gardens of St Matthew’s Church will be transformed into a picture of civility for the fete, which promises to celebrate the creativity of the area in which it sits.
A dog show, raffle, vintage clothing sales, ping pong and live music are just a few of the treats in store as organisers roll out the bunting for the Brick Lane Village Fete.
A comedy sports day will also help spread the cheer among spectators as they enjoy their tea and cake.
The fete will be held on Sunday, July 28 at St Matthew’s Church in St Matthew’s Row from 12pm-7pm.
