PRIME Minister Gordon Brown was a hit with children in London’s East End as he announced a cash lifeline to help weather the recession.
He was joined at the Bromley-by-Bow health and community centre by Minister to the Cabinet Office Liam Byrne as he toured the complex to announce a �42.5 million rescue package.
The centre was used as a backdrop for the announcement of measures to boost communities, charities and other groups helping people get through the recession.
The bail out includes �10m for volunteering and �15.5m for a community resilience fund.
