A technician from London’s East End is pitting his skills against rivals from all over the country to find Britain’s top bus engineer.
Andy Onslow, a 34-year-old bodyworks engineer from Poplar working for Go-Ahead London bus company, competes in the Institute of Road Transport Engineers’ three-day trials next week.
He joins team-mates Jamie Magenis, 23, from Erith, and Daniel Baker, 22, from Dartford, for the third-annual contest at the S&B Automotive Academy training college in Bristol. The winning team is to be revealed at an awards ceremony in July.
