Business network tackling toxic air in Shoreditch signs up its 1,000 member

A network of businesses working together to tackle toxic air in Shoreditch has welcomed its 1,000 member.

The Zero Emissions Network (ZEN) has signed up Goodlord, a lettings transaction platform, to offer bespoke advice and solutions to help the business reduce their impact on air quality.
Set up by Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Islington councils, ZEN also helps businesses switch their petrol/diesel cars to either electric cars, electric bicycles or cargo bikes.
It also offers a range of incentives to encourage staff to either walk or cycle to work, like installing shower/change facilities in business premises.
Cllr Feryal Demirci, from Hackney Council, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Goodlord – it shows that it’s not just residents but businesses too that want to clean up London’s toxic air.

One business to benefit from the scheme is Black Box Coffee, which used a ZEN grant to buy a cargo bike while Secret Smokehouse, a rapidly growing fish smoking business, swapped its diesel vehicle for an electric car.
